Readme.txt
Welcome to my newsletter. I’ve started this account so that I can more efficiently blast out information about my research, new publications, scholarly activities, etc.
In the past, I’ve sent out emails to many of my friends and professional contacts manually, whenever I have a new publication or begin a new project. Now, I’d like to see if I can use SubStack to streamline that process slightly. Less personal, perhaps, but also more efficient. And efficiency is the name of the game in the rat race that we call post-industrial work.
Mostly, this is just about trying to improve the various citation and impact metrics by which a research career is judged. So if you like my work, please cite it, or share it, or assign it to your class. If you don’t have institutional access to one of my pieces, send an email and I will be happy to lend a hand. If you think someone else might like the stuff I share here, encourage them to subscribe. Let’s link and build!
I may also include occasional personal updates— but if you know me, you know that I generally keep those two streams fairly separate =p
